Hey Angie,
Glad to hear Bills doing ok so far. I often wondered the whys and whatfors of treatment. A lady who lives in mytown was diagnosed with the same thing as me. She was a T1N2M0 yet & she had a neck dissection which i didn't. She's only having 3 cycles of chemo (i had 6 high dose). & R/T also. Everyones treatment is so tailor made to suit them. I imagine it as having something custom made so it wouldn't fit or suit anyone else. I was fascinated to hear about how they made the chemo drugs & how the dose has to be calculated precisely. As Bills carer i think it should be compulsory that your completely aware of what's going on. & i wish i'd questioned more! All the best girl! Yo Chelle
As we have said before, I think its a bit of finger in the air. I know everyone is different but I wonder why your friend has had surgery and you didnt, although I am glad you didnt because those who have had surgery seem to take much longer to recover. Didnt ring the Oncy or C Nurse today. Spent some time in his room talking about money, pensions etc. I said I would like to speak to either or, would he mind? He said "why would you want to do that?" I said "I need to ask some questions about your care that you might not want to know the answer to, like how long will it be before you get rid of this nasty taste for instance" he said "if they want us to know they would have told us Yusss!! |

Check you out!
I guess it's the 'what-you-don't-know-can't-hurt-you' effect. & a little knowlege can be dangerous. Ignorance is bliss blahblahblaaaaaah! But it is selfish. He's not in this on his own wether he likes it or not! We're organising a family meal for sunday which could be interesting! 18 of us, Mum & Step dad, Dad & Step Mum, the whole lot of em My uncles witch is causing more hassel than it's worth though! I've told em... It's not about her & the brat! It's celebrating MY health! & if she doesn't like it she can stay at home! Grr! Everything has to be tailored to what she wants... & quoting Nicki from Big Brother (sorry) "who IS she??" *lol* Anyway time to put your foot down girl! Take care! Do they all get on, Mums with step Mums, Dads
etc? It could be good fun!! The funeral I went to recently was nearly a typical funeral, daughter of deceased, (totally minted, married to Kevann, used to be called Kevin till they borrowed money from deceased and made it big in junk mail) Do let us know how your meal goes. Ange X |

Get on???
Err.. no! My dad has NEVER been around. When i was small i used to beg to not have to go and stay with him! & Mum was rightly worried that he'd let me down again with the whole cancer saga. For my sake they were pleasant to eachother when i stayed with Dad to conveless. But as a rule, no, they really don't get along! & as for my uncles witch, she fell out with my sister 2 years back. Thing is, she's like some stepford wife! My nan thinks the sun shines from her behind but the rest of the family see through her. It's going to be entertaining! -~*Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds*~- ...Albert Einstein |

Write down everything that happens, it should keep us all going for a while.
I have just read my posting of last night. Sounds like we left because we weren't getting freebies - no, it was just so awful. |

Couldn't get to speak to Consultant even though I emailed him to ask what time would be convenient for me to ring. Anyway, tracked down the McMillan nurse for this area and although she doesn't know Bills case, she has been able to answer my questions and although I am not looking forward to the next couple of months I feel a whole lot better now that things have been explained and that I can always ring her if I need any assistance.

Good luck for tomorrow Angie! & all the best to Bill!
Bill's done so well so far & with a bit of luck the side effects from R/T shouldn't kick in for a couple of weeks! You never know, he may be one of the lucky ones! But at least you have every scenario covered from people on this site! He's a lucky man to have you at his side. McMillan nurses are one of the same. AMAZING people. Always there to fight your corner! My McMillan radiographer quite literally saved my life when i weighed 6stn 10lb & puked all day & all night! Do lean on her for support. I've got your back girl! Let all your frustrations out here! Thinking of you both! Michelle x -~*Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds*~- ...Albert Einstein |
