I woke up this morning and noticed a lump inside of my tongue. Its closer to the bottum of my tongue just off to the left. Its alittle bit smaller then a pea, and is kind of hard and only hurts when I press on it. I was wondering if it could be a canker sore of some type? im 18, thanks for your help

Hello Joey

It is unlikely to be a cancer in view of your age. A cancer on the tongue would grow and hurt so as to interfere with eating and speech. What you have found might be a local trauma or developing common apthous ulcer which should heal by 3 weeks. So keep an eye on it but stop pressing it!

If still concerned, do see your dentist or doctor for a definitive diagnosis as this can't be done obver the internet. Do let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
