We are now at the beginning of the eleventh week since my husband's, radio therapy treatment finished.(6 treatments over five consecutive days for six consecutive weeks). Eventually the mucus is his mouth, which had been very heavy, gradually became less until, at the end of the 9th (ninth) week(August 2nd) it had reduced to one thin "trickle" of clear saliva.Cheers all round!
ALAS, THREE DAYS LATER, it was back again-not l the original heavy thick yellow "cords" of mucus, but flat bands of transparent colourless, or, sometimes, thick white mucus. Sometimes the thick white stuff hangs in blobs from the top of his mouth like stalactites in a cave! Has anyone else gone through this? Will it ever stop!

I thought my mucus would never end, but now, fiunally it has. The mucus and the pain in my mouth and tongue, didn't heal in a regular way. Instead, it got worse and better depending on the day. His does sound worse than mine ever was, but I dreaded and hated the mucus and sometimes I felt like I would choke on it. Just horrible, horrible stuff! Be patient. I think it will all go away eventually.
