Hi, Christine!
There are a bunch of old posts about Radiance Gel - here's one of them. Radiance Gel Thread You can get Radiance Gel here: Penny Brohm I ordered it from Penny Brohm (we don't sell it here) over the internet and had it within 10 days. I used it but found it no different than Aquaphor; as a matter of fact because it's thicker, it was a little more difficult to slather on. I used both though to be on the safe side. The combo (or one or the other) worked just fine though because I had very little trouble with my skin - it turned red but didn't itch, blister, ooze, etc. It peeled after a while and about one month after RT was completed, there were no signs I'd even had it. One of the selling points in Dr. J's post was that it can also be used inside the mouth. I didn't need to do that but was glad to have it in case I did. Good luck! Mimi |

Hi Mimi,
I always meant to write you and ask how the radiance gel worked for you. I had read a previous post of yours that you had ordered it, but never heard how it worked. Thanks for that info because I was thinking of ordering it myself. I told my doc I had bought the aquaphor, but he told me to use a prescription cream called Radiaplex instead. I've been using it since last Wednesday, and it does sooth my throat, but doesn't seem to keep my throat moistened. I'll have to talk to him when I see him this Wednesday again. My problem is I also have another prescription cream that I have to use also and that could be causing some of the dryness. Because I'm being treated with Erbitux instead of chemo, one of the side effects is a bad rash. The rash on the throat along with the radiation burn isn't fun since the rash itches. This cream seems to help though. It's called Betamethasone Valerate Cream. (the cream does contain a Steroid). Just thought I'd mention it in case someone is having the same problems. Best to all, Cricket |
