Lump inside lower lip.. am I stupid?

Hello I've been a chewer for about 3.5 years now. When I first started doing it daily it caused a sort of crease and/or cut inside my lower lip. And in the same spot a small lump formed which I'd say is about "M&M" sized now at most. Have never gotten it checked out but it's been there at least two years. I thought it was just maybe scar tissue or some such from when I started now I'm really freaking myself out about it and I'm afraid I waited so long that if it's cancer its probably spread to my brain by now. All the pictures I see are usually cancer on the tongue or underneath. So I'm wondering if this could possibly be cancer or is it most likely something else? Thanks in advance.

i can't give you any sorta medical advice...other than this, quit dipping now! i just quit after an 8 or 9 year habbit...while i don't have cancer {that i know of} the damage caused by dipping can be seen quit easy...gum problems, bad breath, tar stains, etc...i kick myself in the ass for ever starting {i started in the army, everyone did it and i was just a stupid kid}...but besides the damage it can cause to your mouth, dipping can increase yor heart rate and lead to high blood preassure...since i quit my blood preassure has gon back to normal, i sleep better at night, and i am saving a ton of money! and i feel in general pretty good...who knows what damage you and i may have done to ourselves...and i hope all we walk away with is some messed up teeth!

really though, try and quit...if your already having problems after three years of use, just imagine what you may be going through in five or ten years...not trying to preach...but i know what your going through...
if you need tips on how to quit let me know...it took me over a year to really quit, it was really hard...but worth it.
peace.

Yeah that makes a lotta sense, the higher blood pressure and increased heart rate part. To give more an idea though of other things I've noticed with this lump is sometimes it feels like it's 'throbbing' or having spasms too. But I'm going to try to see a doctor asap considering I was feeling under my cheek bones last night and my left lymph node seems a lot larger than normal too.
