Evening all, Ive been informed that unless I take part in a clinical trial that I will not be able to have a PET/CT following treatment. This is because the PCT will not pay for it as there is insufficient evidence that it is useful. Any comments my friends ? G

Hi in the USA PET scans seem to be done routinely, but in the UK that is not the case.If i remember correctly Dave was told he and Sue would have to pay privately for one. The benefits of having a PET scan in the first few weeks after treatment are also highly dubious as there is a lot of post radiation false positive problems.Perhaps it is something you shouldnt be worrying about at this stage. liz Love liz Never take your eye off the ball it may just smack you in the mouth

Hi Liz, I think it was the fact that I felt as though I was becoming pressurised into joining a "study" otherwise I would not be eligible to get this public scan. Cheers G
