Open up to Mouth Cancer is a national campaign run by Cancer Research UK to raise the profile of mouth cancer in this country. They have received funding for this campaign from the Department of Health. The campaign launches during Mouth Cancer Awareness week 2005 and will run for at least three years.

Cancer Research UK is looking for for mouth cancer patients/carers who can help them with local press in these areas:
The North East Newcastle / Sunderland
Wales - Cardiff or Swansea area
    Bristol area
    Northern Ireland - Belfast
    Scotland - Edinburgh of Glasgow

The local papers only want to speak to people in their own patch, so if any of you want to help their campaign, please contact me at media@mouthcancerfoundation.org so that I can forward your details onward.

I do hope that you can help.

Best wishes
Vinod Coffee

Hi Julie

Any publicity that generates awareness is good. Will look out for Georgia in the Daily Express article on Tuesday (but remember sometimes newspaper articles can be put back a week!). Thanks for your efforts and don't worry about raising money.

Best wishes

Hello Dr Joshi,

Since you have introduced me to Cancer Research UK, they asked me to do some photo shoot for 'I shouldn't be here' campain for next year (starting around Feb 2006, I was told). Still a bit away but I hope it will help awareness of the mouth cancer in some way. I am still very very grateful for whole British medical system, charity/helping spirit in ordinary people around and this web site - so I wanted to return my gratitude.

Kind Regards,
Ryoko xx

Hello Ryoko

Thanks for helping. Will look forward to seeing you in next years's campaign. Hope they don't make you stand in the snow for your photo-shoot! Take care.

Best wishes
