Cancer Campaigning Group Question Time: Wednesday 3rd March 2010, 6pm

William Sangster Room, Methodist Hall, Westminster

On behalf of the Cancer Campaigning (CCG) I am writing to invite you to our Cancer Question Time. It will be held on Wednesday 3rd March in the William Sangster room in the Methodist Hall, Westminster. Registration will begin from 6pm and the event will start promptly at 6.30pm. Refreshments will be available from 7.30pm onwards.

The debate will last for approximately an hour, and will take the well-known and established BBC Question Time format. The audience will bring together a range of stakeholders from the cancer community, including CCG members and other third sector organisations, parliamentarians and policymakers, PPCs, and KOLS. The panel will therefore face an informed audience eager to discuss the priorities, challenges and solutions within the cancer community in the immediate run-up to an election.

We are delighted that the panel will include Ann Keen MP, Parliamentary under Secretary of State for Health, Mark Simmonds MP, Conservative Shadow Health Minister, Norman Lamb MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Anna Dixon, Acting CEO of the King’s Fund. The final two panel slots will be filled by Professor Peter Johnson, Director of Southampton Clinical Centre, University of Southampton and Philip Dextor who is a member of The Prostate Cancer Charity's Prostate Cancer Voices Network.

Vivienne Parry, writer and broadcaster, well known for her contributions to The Times, The Guardian, Mail on Sunday, News of the World and appearances on Radio 4, Tomorrow’s World and Panorama has agreed to Chair the event.

There are a limited number of places available and attendance will therefore be on a first come first serve basis. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to the CCG Secretariat by email at ccg@luther.co.uk or by telephone on 020 7618 9142.

The Group will be podcasting the event, which will be uploaded onto our website; www.cancercampaigninggroup.org.uk and members will be tweeting throughout the evening. Please follow us on http://twitter.com/CCGQT.
