I’m on the verge of losing hope but I don’t know why my heart says that I can do it……but the doctor’s reports say that I have 50% chance. I have breast cancer…..i know that chances of getting cured is minimum. Sometimes I do not feel like taking my medicines; for the time being I’m taking adriamycin; http://www.drugdelivery.ca/s326-s-ADRIAMYCIN.aspx you guys must be aware of this medicine….probably you have used it. Is there anyone here who has been able to fight breast cancer? Please tell me your experience….I need a lot of encouragement…….

Dear Belle, firstly may I say, dont lose hope. Breast Cancer is very treatable these days.
Are you just recently diagnosed? Its a great shock to be given this diagnosis & your mind goes off in all directions. What type of Breast cancer do you have? I am 2 1/2 years on from having a Mastectomy for Lobular cancer.I did not require Radiotherapy as I had the Mastectomy, & opted not to have Chemotherapy. I will be on Arimidex for the foreseeable future & have a good chance for non reocurance. Please do continue to take your medicines. Do you have a Brest cancer nurse you can call for advice? 2 good websites for information are www.breastcancercare.org.uk who have a helpline & a good chat forum. www.cancerhelp.org.uk which is a good source of info. re: treatments. All the very best. Fran |

Belle,
Since i joined the Cancer Club myself last year, i've met many people with many types of cancer. I know 2 strong, amazing ladies that have beaten their odds. You are NOT a statistic, regardless of what the odds may be. One lady i met today had an advanced tumour with lymph node involvment and she's doing great now! I hope you manage to find some peaceof mind. Michelle -~*Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds*~- ...Albert Einstein |

Dear Belle, Please don't lose hope, I had a mastectomy followed by 32 treatments of Radiotherapy. My husband was told at the time that they had removed a large tumour and I would probably have a maximum of 5 years to live. That was 28 years ago and I'm still here, as large as life, and twice as ugly! Greatly enjoying my retirement in Spain.Try to remain 'positive' and keep yourself occupied if you can Belle. I admit to being one of the 'loiterers' on this wonderful Site. I first joined about 5 years ago when I had biopsies for ulcers on the tongue. I still log on every day to see what you are all up to. I look on you all as friends, especially Paul who kindly contacted me at the time.
Every good wish, Ruth Mary |

Hi Belle,
One of my younger sisters had breast cancer. Things were not looking good but she had op, RT and chemo. That was seven years ago. She's now great, getting married again, has her house up for sale and plans to move to Teneriefe with the future hubby. Although she did find the treatment hard and had to give up her floristry business, she now is a lifeguard, has learnt to fence and is super duper fit! Breast Cancer treatment is more advanced now than then, don't loose heart and try to keep positive. Good Luck. SusieR |
