Dr. Sherry Schachter, a certified grief therapist and registered nurse at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and Dr. Harvey Max Chochinov, a Professor of Psychiatry and Family Medicine at the University of Manitoba in Canada, discuss the psychological hurdles during cancer treatment. quote: Disclaimer: Please see your own dentist/doctor for a proper diagnosis as my words should not, in any circumstances, be taken as dental/medical advice. "If you see what is small as it sees itself, and accept what is weak for what strength it has, and use what is dim for the light it gives, then all will go well. This is called Acting Naturally." A big Amen to that quote. I am probably the most upbeat person that I know, and those who know me would tell you this. I find good in almost everything,,but this, this after 15 years, is a bear to handle. To deal with. Day after Day. My big brother Keith, was very upset this last report that we got. So he was explaining to his three daughters about their Aunt Vicki Lynn and how sick she really is and has been for all these years. They are older girls and they do know that I have cancer, but as they put it, you would never know. In his explanation he told them that she has never lived a day like we do, she is constantly checking and re checking her mouth and her neck area, by now she is almost a doctor herself. She doesn't know about tomorrow she lives for today. She just can't go up and order anything she wants,, she has to think about eating. Girls we take so much for granted, things that most don't even and have never thought about, she lives with everyday..So the next time you take a breath, swallow, chew a piece of gum, drink a coke, eat chips, think of her and all that she can't do,,,Then remember all the things that we can---be thankful for what you can do. Love her for your Aunt Vicki never complains about it..Yeah right,,lol,,,Thanks for listening, ALways, Vicki
