Hi Blitz Most dentists doing dental implants are members of the ADI Are you having a fixed bridge (6-8 implants) done or is it an implant retained overdenture (2-4 implants) ? Is it just for the lower jaw or also the upper? You will be able to chew better with dental implant treatment, for sure! HI Dr Joshi, I read with interest what you say about implant as I have posted before I am waiying to have all my teeth out but they keep putting it off because of the risk of infection which apparantly is high and can leave you in a mess for life!( what I have read on the Cancer sites are horendous if it all goes wrong Should I ask them how much it would cost to put teeth in my lower Jaw to aid my eating which is limilted anyway? I have a denture at the top as lost 4 teeth when I was attacked a long time ago now so I do not suppose they can implant there? could you please advice. Paul

PPS Paul What can go horribly wrong i would like toknow

Oh-oh, are you 100% sure you want to know what could go wrong? If so so, I'll bet that Paul has been given all the gory details. I'm out of this discussion as I wasn't able to wear my dentures prior to the op, and as I've said before if I got new dentures now I doubt if I'd be able to talk at all. So, it's over to you Paul. Let's have the horror story that's been given to you. Looking forward, with lip-smacking anticipation, to the revelations.

WEll Pikeman, As the surgeon said"""if you get an infection in the jaw it will be difficult to heal if ever"""! """The next would be surgery to remove affected jaw""" the next your coffin awaits BASICALLY thats how I understood it
|
Oops Paul, I knew I shouldn't have asked. But at least alternatives were offered. So being insatiably curious (i.e. nosey) I await further developements

Hello All. I find myself in this forum because my Dad has recently been diagnosed with throat cancer, so I'm searching for tips on a menu. He's stuggling to eat or drink much at present. The lump is too big to currently operate on, so he has to have chemo or radio or both, we're waiting to find out which. Anyway to my point of posting here. For very obviously reasons people feel down. I have no idea what people here know and don't know about computers and the net. But if you want to try to take your mind off immediate problems for a while and chat to strangers. You can try some of the chat programs that are available for free download. I met my ex-girlfriend using ICQ (ICQ.com), AOL and others also allow you to download a chat program. Yes, I did say """Ex""", but we did last for 3 1/2 years. So it wasn't all bad, of course if you don't want a relationship you can always just find people to talk with regularly and add them to your buddy list. So you can socialise that way too and it saves the walk home afterwards!

Hey Blitz How did the dental implant treatment turn out. I hope you are eating better now.
