Finaly got my appointment through. I'm to have an Ultra Sound Guided Biopsy tomorro. Apparently of the thyroid area - although my lump is several inches above the thyroid. So i'll make sure they're probing the right area!! Roll Eyes
I've not had a biopsy by ultrasound yet, so it should be a new experience! I had a fine needle aspiration of the last lymph gland but i guess where this is so close to the artery they want to get it right.
I'd love to know when this ends! Just when you think you're over it and can put it to the back of your mind ... i sometimes feel its a way of making sure i don't get complacent with my life. I guess it'll be a week before i get the results. I'm getting cramp from keeping everything crossed!

All the best guys,
Michelle x

Hi Chelle

First of all good luck for tomorrow, fingers and everything else crossed for you.

It's the wait that gets you having the tests then then waiting a week does you head in.

You are doing the right thing having it checked out.

Will be thinking about you tomorrow.

Hello Chelle

The ultrasound guided biopsy is the normal FNA biopsy but uses the guidance of the ultrasound probe to be sure that the sample is taken from the correct place.

Good luck for tomorrow.

Best wishes

Hello you guys!
So it didn't quite work out as planned!
It turns out the glands in question are touching the Carotid artery - sitting right on it. Initialy the first Dr wasn't worried, but he called in the big cheese who said they were a little enlarged but being that they were touching the artery he wasn't comfortable going in an doing the biopsy. So he compared to the other side - and they were also a little on big side.
He said they all looked even though -not abnormal in shapen or anything. So he's decided the watch and wait approach is the way to go. It could well be they're all enlarged from the R/T. & the fact they are regular in shape is good.
So i'm a little reassured. I doubt these glands will come to anything, though it would be nice to have had it biopsied to be sure!
Time to get on with life until the next blip huh?! Smiler
Thanks for all your encouragment everyone!
Michelle
