Hi Cathy ,yes very much so in answer to your under the "Umbrella" ,nicely put, the clinic say "unfortunately another little legacy from treatment" .Pauls RT was in upper nasopharynx
area so this is why his nasal passages ,ear and behind eyes have been problematic .The copius mucous etc will always be there as the problem with his ear so need to just keep on top of infections .

He had a nasty nasal haemorage between xmas and new year that was caused by a small vessel burst so i think this recent blood in mucous when coughing up mucous could be related but will get that checked next week, not too bad but needs mentioned .

I can understand your worry with Chaz and his lungs ,but since Paul has been through treatment he has always had this problem and wakes in the night to clear things, also during day .Most people do experience this and the person who finds a remedy for this would indeed be very rich and popular with everyone undergoing head and neck RT. The fact he has swelling and you said a dewlap will not be helping.Sleeping a bit higher than normal may help.Did they say it was lymphodoema or did they suspect an infection underneath the skin?

Given time to recouperate I'm sure Chaz will realize his ambition to do his Masters Cathy, just keep on top of things like the two of you are doing there will come a time when things will settle and be managable .We had a good 3 years for a while there, then got an unwanted surprise when Paul had a remedial operation to remove RT adhesions so he could breathe better and they decided to take a biopsy while they were operating .

My daughter is still waiting for her appointment !! so have phoned her doctor to see what the delay is .He said it should have been in and would chase it up that, was Friday so ready for another phone call if nothing arrives next week .

Have written down the films and we will have a wee trip to the movies next week hopefully.

Talk soon Cathy ,hope Chaz feels better soon and results all ok .

Bell x
