Hi everyone

Started radiotherapy on Thursday. Didn't sleep well night before, and a nervous wreck on way to hospital, but everything went ok, didn't feel anything first couple of days.

But to-day I have felt really tired, have a thumping head and feeling kind of 'floaty' if you know what I mean, sort of out of it.

I didn't expect to feel anything so soon, is this normal? Never mind 3 down 27 to go!!!!!

Love
Tracey

Hi Tracy, think I felt Ok til about week 5/6, just tired as you say. Have you got any aqueous cream? I swear by it. Keep slapping on your skin twice a day it will definitely pay off in the long run.
Also, while I was being zapped I had a mantra I used to recite "kill the b-----d, kill the b-----d!" And I imadined the tumour like a little tree dying gradually turning brown then black and finally disintegrating.
I had 30 sessions finished 24/12/04. Saw ENT surg last Friday and he is very impressed with what he can see of my throat.
Good luck
Sue

SmilerHi Tracy, I used to drink loads of fresh juice prior to Rad, and loads when I got back; I always went straight to bed and slept, around 4 p.m. I would lie in the bath, it is the only way I was able to calm the pain + the pills. It was after number 15 that things got tough, and towards the end I looked as though I had been scalded.Keep slapping on the cream, and drink loads, Big Bear Hugs.

Thanks for the advice Garance, I spoke to the nurse to-day and she said some people can have effects from the start, others not till week 2 onwards. I didn't expect anything so soon, saying that I'm not too bad to-day, just a bit tired. Traveling takes an hour each way, plus I had an hour wait so its understandable.

But hey so far so good Smiler
Love
Tracey

Hi Tracey, Good to hear you are coping well so far - let's hope you "get off lightly". You've had a tough time of it recently yet still seem quite upbeat. Good on you. How's the singing? Keep smiling! Regards Brenda x

Hi Tracy, agree with you its the travelling that is very tiring. I had an hours journey each way which I did by train to begin with but by the end I was using cabs as I couldn't face the long walk from the station to the hospital. I also had horrendous waiting times at St Thomas' sometimes up to 4hours! That made the day very long and quite an endurance!
Hope you keep well and not too tired.
Kind regards Sue

Day 8 to-day (not that i'm counting!) so far so good. Only thing I have noticed is, to-day my throat is a bit sore when I swallow.

The singing is on hold for now, which I am finding VERY difficult.I have had to turn away alot of work, telling people the band are having a break due to illness.

Love
Tracey
