Thanks Dr Vinod
I asked about the gelclair yesterday and they said they didnt normally use it but they found some samples for me to try and said they'd prescibe it for me if it helped. It's a bit soon to see much in the way of results so far but I think it is helping so I'll ask to continue with it . The only thing is it says not to eat/drink for at least an hour after using and I normally have small sips of liquid throughout the day. I am finding it very difficult to get enough fluids down and they are talking about admitting me for a couple of days so I can have a drip and morphine pump. I would rather be at home really but there are times when it would be a relief to be in hospital.

Maggie.....the best thing i was ever prescribed for the intense pain in my mouth and throat from Radiotherapy treatment was "cocaine" mouthwash. It gave the best relief I ever got from any pain control medication.
And "Diflam" rinse will help to keep your mouth fresh and infection free.
