Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has had additional surgery to the tongue to provide more movement. My doctor is reccomending I have an additional surgery, z plasty (of course I have butchered the medical terminology). She will go in and make a zig-zag cut on the right side of my tongue to provide more movement. She is thinking this will improve my speech and maybe my ability to move food. The moving food part will be minimal, however speech is a real problem for me. Mostly I sound like my mouth is full of cotton or something. Of course my hard consonants are bad also. Does anyone have any information about this type of surgery? Also I have terrible scar tissue damage to my neck and jaw. I wonder if this will be worse after surgery.
LeAnn
