The biopsies all were negative.
The clouds have parted. The day started with visits from two of the doctors. One has not seen me for 7 days. He examined me, and said I believe the inside of your mouth is 30 % better. The radiologist was with him and we discussed the Pet Scans. The general consensuses is that these 3D images are difficult to read, easier to compare over time and there is no clear way to pin point a small problem with a clear chance of identification . The PET scan will show you areas of concern. Biopsies are the confirmation means of positive identification.

Before I left Dr. Matti Appro (never seen a Doctor with a 70 page resume) came in to examine me. He told me his opinion was that the Pet Scans were being misread and causing alarm. I arrived at the ENT Specialist and was actually not biting my nails. He examined my mouth, told me that the biopsies were clean, and that things looked improved. He warned me to rest, eat, build my strength. In 3 weeks another examination. Whew, suddenly I had a ticket to a life again. I walked out of the office started praying aloud again, then I window shopped for an hour while getting my breath back. Today I work on an eating program, a way to manage my nausea, and a non-stress rest program plan that includes white sand.

I dont think there is a moral to the story today, but several things I did apply in the past days. I surrendered to my sisters vision of combined intercession, and I visualized everyone surrounding me thriving at the goal together through prayer for repair. I also surrendered to the fact that I would enter a second round with the monster with the same fever I had during the first round. I added a new facet in the new plan this week to take on more assistance ( we all need a LOT of support), as opposed to fighting it nearly alone like Ive done since June. I hope someone can use this as strength to get them through what might be temporary bad news.

Hello Chris. Thats really good news lifted your spirits no end I bet. Just keep ladling the full fat cream on the porridge and you will soon have your weight back on. Keep that positive attitude and you will be just fine.

Look to the future now.

Kind Regards

Rosemary

Great news Chris. Isn'tg it a wonderful feeling when ypou have a personal exaltation like that!
I am on the weight trail too, as you've probably heard me bleating. Trouble is I find something new which I enjoy, have it too often, turn againast it, and back to square One again.
Tonight I really enjoyed my supper. Everything blended together but the three just matched superbly.

Four minute boiled egg (I like just three mins but I'm eccentric!) 100 grams smoked salmon, 2 heaped tablespoons cooked spinach, blob of unsalted butter, and whizz until really smooth. Wash down with ice cold emi-skimmed milk as full cream is too much aith all that richness.
You can almost feel the ounces going on, believe me.

Yes I think a 3 minute egg is the best, eggs have become my friends now. Although my watch is fast it may be the attitude. Today I had my first serious food in 2 weeks, a piece of liver that I managed to chew and swallow abiet kicking my feet and crying. It worked.

Doctors said the #1 item is eating normally. They took me off the pain drugs now, they said it is time to recover naturally.

The food is the BIG issue for me, all the time difficult. Boy oh boy, this is one mind blogging experiance. It just remains from worst to bad.

I hope when these IV's stop I gain more taste and less naseau.

I try to get out next week......even if I sneak out....!

Chris I have to hand it to you, if I could eat, which I cannot-----YET-----Liver would be the last thing on my list....SORRY.....I know how good it is for you,,,But that is the one thing in the world that I just cannot eat....I did manage to swallow just a little ity bit of applesauce the other day. That was the first thing to slide down my throat in over a year. So I was so excited. Keep up the wonderful work. We will all get there....I am praying for that ...ALways Vicki Lynn

HI Chris, Not sute if I would start with Liver but mine maybe different problem to you.
I have lost part of my tongue so have to eat with a Teaspoon so everything has to be minced up and I can asssure you it never tastes the same.
I drink Coffee sometimes I am not sure if it Coffee, Soup, Tea or what and think what the point may as well just drink water.
For some reason my tastebuds differ all the time dont know why?
But you may be lucky and not have this problem.

You don't know how good that made me feel to read that Paul to know someone else stil has up and down taste. We think our taste is back and wham a week of indifferent taste sensations.
One thing I have learnt about all this is that we all have different taste changes so all we can do is say what we eat and find acceptable even if another find it disgusting.

I had aripe pear today -it was nice but not nice because I knew it could taste so much better if I had the old taste buds. Still taste is a lot better than two years ago for me. I don't think it will ever bethe same though. Still it keeps the figure in good shape.

Christopher try Coca cola, ginger beer for some different, but high calorie fluids as a change from water. So glad you had good news.

Paul,

Thanks. This week I am painfully back on real food. Between what I can eat with tears , and what I am served at the Bates Hotel I am hovering at 71 kilometer for 4 weeks(86 is normal), the major problem is this ''infection'' in the left of the mouth from the radiation, it causes the pain. This morning my stats read improvement in all area, but hemogoblins are inching slowly up, very slow. I am planned to depart back home next week from this 6 week at the (hotel) hospital. I am worn out.

I cant understand why my body heals so slow now, this lousy radiation burn has kept me down since August 1. The Doctors were all puzzeled at my low ressistance to the chemo (1 week), and the slow healing. Normally I am never sick and thought I was strong. This diease is an eye opener and this past week is the first time that real fear has approached my future, realization of the frailness of my body.....scary....

Again, thanks for you advise, I'll try to Endure...

Chris

They did not seem to know how to help me at the Hospital I scoured the net trying to find something to stop the burning and pain and when I eventually found some cream to use the Nurse asked me for the name??? Well I am going to shove my stodge down my throat now for Dinner Big Grin
I do hope you find some relief and do please keep in touch
