Hi everyone,

It has been quite a while since I have posted, but I do still log on every so often to see how everyone is doing. I have almost reached the two year mark since diagnosis of tongue cancer and everything is going great. In fact, I have just returned to the UK after working for three months in a remote community in Nicaragua, which is something I never thought would be possible, even this time last year.

I had surgery and I have been left with quite a messy neck dissection scar, as the wound had to be opened up three times due to complications. In a couple of weeks my surgeon is going to do a Z-plasty to try to improve the appearance. Has anyone else had this and did it work?! I would be really interested to hear other people's stories.

Thanks and a special hello to Chelle and Dave and Sue.

Hello Susana

My best wishes for your Z-plasty to improve your messy scar. It is a common plastic surgery procedure and should improve the appearance of the scar. Good luck.

Let us know how you get on. Some before and after pictures would be good for others if they ask your question in future. Wink

Best wishes
Vinod Coffee
