Hello, all:
Please let me know what creams, oils, etc. you found most helpful for the acne-like rash after Erbitux treatments. Not only for the face, chest, back, but also the fingers and toes. thanks, Berry |

Berry,
Google is your friend! Example: Erbitux Rash Google something like 'erbitux side effects' and you'll find info about the side effects as well as the helpful remedies. Your doc and his/her assistants should have some recommendations as well. One of the posters on the message board I linked to above reminded me of something very important; if you get the rash, it means that Erbitux is working. I think that Cricket may have taken it - do a Find for Cricket and see if that's the right person (sorry, I'm in kind of a hurry tonight. Am working the Census and have some paperwork to complete before I go out again tomorrow morning). Let us know how it works for you - you'll be helping someone else down the road; Pay it Forward. Best of luck to you, Mimi |

Thank you, Mimi! That was one of the best sites I've seen. Erbitux is relatively new, so it's great to hear from a larger community of experience than I could access from my little town.
I can't tell you how much I have appreciated all of the advice, hints, and "atta girl"s that you all have sent my way. Just taking it a day at a time, doing my exercises and hoping for the best. You are wonderful. Berry |

P.S. by the way, from what I've read, the notion that the rash indicates that the treatment is working has turned out to be a falacy. Some people who have had extreme rashes were not helped, and some who had minor rashes were helped immensely. Seems that it just depends on the person.

Berry,
Thanks for that info! I won't be spreading untruths the next time around. It reminds me of something I went through about 15 years ago. I was developing benign fibroid breast tumors and read in many places that caffeine could be responsible for them. I quit caffeine and within a few months they were totally gone. I told my doc how I was able to rid myself of them and she just laughed, saying that my 'remedy' was unproven and had no reliable stats. But, but, but....it worked for me! Coincidence, whatever, who knows what else was going on? I did develop breast cancer in 2005 and if I need something to blame rather than just considering it one of life's crap shoots, I'd say HRT (hormone replacement therapy) contributed to it. Right now I'm totally cancer free and lovin' every minute of it. Best of luck to you! Mimi |

Erbitux is new enough that I don't know if the verdict is totally in. The studies I've seen so far only mention a few hundred patients, rather than thousands. There are worse side effects than zits, to be sure.
Luckily I have a loner-type outside job, and don't work in an atmosphere where I would freak out small children enough to send them away running and screaming. I didn't get chicken pox until I was 28 and in college. That was an experience in discovering my vanity. So glad you are doing well! thank you again! |

Mimi,
You must be sooo busy in Sacramento. What percentage there don't fill in the forms? I lived in Walnut Creek years ago, and my Gentleman friend's Mom lives in Sacramento. take care, Berry |
