Bleeding in the mouth

I just joined this group. My mother has been fighting oral cancer for about 3 years now. They gave her only 1 year when they diagnosed her. She has had radiation, lesions removed, and numerous medications. During the past few weeks she has had bleeding from a lesion in her moth. She finally wentto the dr yesterday. They hospitalized her. Can the cancer from her mouth spread into her digestive system from swallowing the blood?

Hello Beverly

It is most unlikely for a mouth cancer cell to survive the stomach's acids and enzymes, so don't worry about that! Hope your mum gets better. Let us know how she does.

Best wishes
