Have now had 31 treatments and will have the last one Monday. Really finding it difficult now and just don't want to go! Am quite weak as am not eating at all and only managing to drink a small amount. This combined with the effects of the morphine make me quite light headed. I doze a lot and have some very strange dreams. I know that there is no answer to my question really as everyone is different but I would like some idea of how soon before I find it less painful and before I can eat more. Am also worried about withdrawal symptoms when I stop taking the oramorph - taking 15ml approx every 2 hours.

It will probably continue to work for 2 weeks after treatment finishes and you may feel just much the same as now, but for 2 weeks or so more. Weeks 7 and 8 are about the worst I think.
You are almost there. You ahve to think if you feel this bad the cancer cells feel worse. It is rough I know. You think I neevr felt this ill before treatment so it must be doing bad things to me and of course it is, but your good cells will fight back. |
