I am qurious about something. I would like to know of any head & neck cancer survivors that have chosen NOT to do radiation after surgery. I was told that all of my cancer was gone due to surgery and I had a CT done 3 weeks ago with nothing showing. I have have 5 Rad treatments so far, and I am very anxious about what is to come. Also, I cannot afford any more time off of work as I had to take 9 weeks off due to my surgery. Thank you all who respond to this post. Prayers to all, Molly SCC of left jaw 01/06 Surgery on 2/28/06 and Radiation started 05/12/06 Cancer free so far Yeaaaaaa!!! | |||

Hello Molly It is best for you to speak to your oncologists as they can tell you best why you need the radiation. Then you can weigh up the side-effects/benefits and made a joint informed decision. Not every patient needs radiation therapy.
