This week, it was busy between Geneva and Genolier, while the harvest is on and grapes are being gathered I went through a series of examines. As I am having a hard time healing were the radiation effected inside my mouth, the Doctors wanted me to go through several test. I had 5 different doctors working as a team. First day: test was a Pet Scan, only one machine in this part of Switzerland, so that was done Monday (It took 2 hours) Day 2: a throat and upperchest endoscope - 3 doctors present- put me asleep (nearly) nothing to be found, looked good they said, damaged area by radiation is lower than where the tumor was. Still with this visual examine, the cancer area could not be seen due to the ''fibor'' healing of the radiation damaged area. Day 5 : The Doctor who discovered the Tumor examined me, his first time seeing me since June 15. Young Swiss Doctor with a great set of tools. He likes Rothko paintings. He said he''thought'' the cancer was still there. A feeling or hat trick? He dismissed the Pet Scan as not an effective way to see the area, given the healing and irratiation of the areaof the mouth. His thought about the cancer still being there was ''a feeling'', and he pounced on me for not going his direction; Ie: radiation and Chemo together (I did start the chemo and rad together but the radiation and chief onologist stopped me in week 3 because I was sinking fast , vomitting, sick, dizzy, etc, and they wanted me to finish the radiation (37 sessions). which they said was MORE effective on a localized tumor. After he lectured me, he did a biopsy of three areas of the mouth Big Grin , surrounding the tumor area (which is now closed and not visible), this tumor was on the roof of my mouth near the tonsil (left), at the end of the radaition is had disappeared totally, nor visably spread to any other areas. He did a refreshing nasal endoscopy , and after he was then 'more' positive than when I walked in the door, but said--I just don't know until a biopsy would confirm as it is the only SURE way with biopsy (results Oct.6).

I was pretty shaken at him telling me that I likely had a year left (wooden box) :boxedin: if we didn't get this cured- even without a real clue that I am clean or not.... I feel this week a little better Razzer , despite eating problems Razzerizza: are BIG and still in the Hospital on IV foods, drugs and vitamins.
It's now 6 weeks since the rad threatment stopped, mouth sore :yikes: , burning, tired, 25 lbs underweight, and TIRED of this all.....
Could I be ''on-schedule'' in this recovery?

All views and experainces welcome! Confused
