Hello all once again- am back to bore you all once again. The new peg is really behaving itself very well and due to the neglience of a particular hospital who had created two other such with me over the years but I had refrained from taking any action against them - this time I am taking the required action as my eldest son - who never ever really looses his temper and tries to stay away from all these kind of things - when he saw what they were doing with me, for the first time said " Papa, dont let them get away this time - you have suffered enough because of them.
This was the first time I actually saw my son more as a mature man then a young adult. He really took me by surprise when he said these words.
Well - I took the required action. I have this problem of not trusting anyone totally ( and do not expect them to trust me either) and all conversatins either via telephone or physically are recorded and if its physically photographs are taken on the quiet (technology!!!). The hospital in question has a name to live upto and does not want their name to to be read by millions of Indians in a negative manner and especially as I have the physical evidence - photos, x - rays, discharge letters etc. and also have the recodings of the doctors whose names I took in my letter to initiate the action are not very happy about the situation they are in.
I was going to release the story of negligence by these three doctors who I have very bluntly named as "quacks" in my letter to the MD of the chainof thesehospitals and did send the entire history to the media. However, being friendly with the media - I requested them also not to print till such time I told them to and they agreed.
I had a meeting with the bosses and told them as to how much money I wanted to keep things quiet. This initially took them to a point where they thought I was blackmailing them. It was then I told them the reason for that particular amount of money. It would all go towards children with cancer and those kids who could not afford the treatment and to make sure that I was not bluffing I even told them the name of the charity to which they must make out the bankers draft. Initially - they kept on about forgiving and forgetting as I had in the past and the harder their tried y demands went higher. I then demanded if they were not willing to shell out the money - I would expect them to give kids below the age of ten totally free treatment - food, medicines, radiation, chemo drugs and room for ten kids and their families for one year running. When they realised the cost that was going to hit them, they felt the first option was better.
So end of story is that they will in all their glory, pomp and show to show the world how generous they are will present the bankers draft to the charity I mentioned and I in turn would turn a blind eye to all that happened to me in the particular hospital however would still retain the documents related to all the history -and not get anything into print or television. I told them they had no choice but to accept my offer as even giving them the documents - I would still have back ups of everything.
So at the end of this little episode, as I told them I had lived my 50 years and wanted these kids to live at least as long as I lived and not die for the lack of treatment. I told them if a five year old child would get treated the chances of his living another 45 years would be there however with no finances and no treatment, they stood no chance. I feel happy that I managed to at least make a difference in the life of at least some kids - even though it was just a drop in the ocean. Guess - it was my Karma to have done it and not asked for anything for myself as I really do not have the need for that money.
Well thats all folks.
With lots of love to all,
Ananth

Hi Ananth! Fabulous work! I'm proud of you and your son for getting on you! That took a lot of courage from the both of you and I'm thrilled with the outcome! What a generous thing to do, giving the money to the children who need the medical attention for cancer related illness.

Just wish the hospital would have gone for the second option! I guess that would be a bit to ask for though (?)! Roll Eyes Too bad.

In my eyes, it wasn't just a drop in the bucket Ananth, but a big splash!

You are the King! Hugs and kisses to you, Cricket

What a fantastic effort Ananth.

Whatever disasters and horrors have come out of your illness, both personally and for your family, there has also a great amount of good come from it.

You should be very proud of yourself and your son. Not many of us get chance to leave such a legacy for the good of others - but you have. Well done.

xx
