What can I expect?Go ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
I've just been diagnosed today with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. I discovered the lump two and a half years ago in my right cheek, near my right lower gum. After three operations the diagosis is confirmed. Could anyone tell me what I can expect for treatment, and what happens next? I have an appointment booked with an Oncologist next Friday. I want to go into that appointment informed. Anything you can offer me would be appreciated. God Bless,<br />Georgie

Dear Georgie It is always a shock when we get bad news - it is like staring into an abyss and feeling the fear. Though we can't do much about the ACC and what happens next, we will be here to listen to you and to encourage you with our best wishes and prayers. There are links to information about ACC on the RDOC website that you may find useful: PATIENT'S GUIDE > SALIVARY GLAND CANCER. Let us know how you get on. Take care and be strong in your mind.
