Although the wheatgerm and the linseed might be a bit tricky, it could be quite soothing for a reverse B. H.

Oh er,
Sorry, not been keeping up. Banana smoothies up the BH, no thanks, I'd prefer it to digest before it all came out again. ha ha. Although if I'm having a bad swallow day, I do somtimes bolus them down the peg. It can be a pain, the extra work making sure every untensil is clean enough when mixing up the concoctions and if a water flush after the bolus leaves the tube looking a little bit sticky, I leave a shringe full of Coke in the tube for five minutes and it cleans it fine. (I was told that by the advisor who delivered my pump and stuff at the outset. Lemon juice works aswell) Deb's, as for the humour on here, I would say that if a few people from here started a comedy roadshow there would be a full house every night!! SusieR |

When the constipation has been resolved and as often happens, the oposite is the case. I understand bicycle clips are not that easy to obtain these days, however, tracksuit bottoms with strong tight elasticated legs make a good substitute.

Great idea Ange but what about emptying them, some adaptation to a pooper scooper perhaps?
Over to you Chelle SusieR |

Well no, it just gives you chance to get home, not quite as embarassing if you are on the bus or perhaps at the super market or getting your hair done.

Can't help it!!
I don't poo in my elasticated bottom tracksuit BUT I do fart!!! On the bus, and in the supermarket!!!! (Silent but deadly Getting my hair done is not a problem, they are used to it. Both my best friend and daughter in law are hairdressers. I just warn them first. I'm sorry to tell you this (not really) but I don't care. It's far better than having to go through the pain of a reverse bum hole!!!! Is there anyone here can come back and tell me that they have never farted in public??? ha ha. |

So what do you say to your clients having a nice aromatherapy massage? or do you just have lots of burners placed stratigically.

Burners, scented candles and a very tight spincter muscle!! ha ha.
Ange, how is it that it's always US that get into these conversations? |

What a great idea that is, a candle holder and solution to your problems.

This thread makes me very glad to be past the days of Stephen being on morphine.... You think things are bad, and then you're dealing with constipation on top of it all!
Just in case some more ideas are needed: ~Prune juice definitely gets things going. (About a quarter cup per day helped Stephen -- a bit more for the more painful days, I think.) ~Spinach juice (about 100ml per day) is doing the trick now, since Stephen still is on an Ensure/Instant Breakfast diet. (I use a juicer, and juice a few carrots along with the spinach. Uses a good amount of spinach to make juice, but it's worth it.) Also, for calorie- and protein-packed liquid nutrition like Ensure, it helps digestion to have at least a half-cup of water, gatorade, or juice per cup of the stuff. (Even equal amounts of water or other liquid to balance out the Ensure is not a bad idea to keep well hydrated.) Susan |

In order to manage constipation, you may want to consider using Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can be very effective at helping to move and regulate the bowels. Specific information on the treatment is available in this article: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for Constipation It is recommended to only use herbal formulas that have been prescribed by a licensed Acupuncturist or Chinese Herbalist. Always inform the practitioner of any other medications you may be taking or other treatments you are receiving. Chinese medicine works very well as an complementary therapy to balance the side-effects of western drugs and cancer treatments. You can read more here: TCM for Chemotherapy Side Effects |

I would rather that it is patients that exchange their experiences of using acupuncture for their problems rather than someone who is not a patient join the board to post here with a view to promote its use.
