Hi everyone, thinking of all of you - loved ones and patients alike. We just held my Dad's remembrance service this past Thursday and it was beautiful. We chose a stunning golf club as the venue - he aleways loved his golf. Dad ensured the weather stayed nice and we had a dove release mid-ceremony in his honour. He beamed a huge rainbow into my room on the morning of the ceremony too. Wow I miss him, but I feel him all around.
Anyway why have I posted this in a medication, treatment and procedures thread? [please feel free to move if you prefer] Well, as we all know - there aren't many people who don't know of someone who has been affected by cancer. Can any of us possibly avoid it? Some sufferers unfortunately seem to be genetically predisposed to it, but with environmental factors taking a lot of the rap lately, I've got a report that explores this a lot further. It makes for a really interesting read and although written for a person newly diagnosed, whether that applies to you or not, I think there are tips we can all take from it. I know none of us would leave our houses if we were to take every bit of advice to heart, but maybe you'll take something from it. I certainly learnt a fair bit. Anyway, it's a word doc so if you're at all interested - just PM me and I'll email it over. Keep fighting the good fight - love to you all. |
