Hello everyone and Happy Birthday to Vicki Lynn.Paul is doing quite well at moment with the the main problem of his dry mouth. His teeth and gums also become very painful and sensitive. He uses the Biotene products and the Glandosane saliva spray .But feels they are not really very good and continues with his copious water bottle to ease his speech and give relief. On checking out new products on the market I came accross HypoSalix. It is a spray and also there is another gel.It sounds really good but the company in Britain that is going to supply it i think is still under discussion as to when.I have written to them and they have kindly written back saying the director is going to Italy this week and will get someone from there to send me all the relevant details and when it will be available so will keep everyone posted when I hear more .It has been develpoed especially for cancer treatment Xerostonia.Just wondered if anybody else has heard anything about it . Bell

Bioprogress have now received regulatory approval for the gel version. It is due to be launched later this year. They made the following announcement today:

"Artisial / Hypozalix(TM) is BioProgress' proprietary product for the treatment of xerostomia (dry mouth). The two new formulations are a liquid mouthwash and oral gel designed to re-hydrate the oral mucosa. This range compliments the existing oral spray product and fits within the Group's sore mouth franchise. The range allows BioProgress to compete more effectively in saliva replacement market with planned extension into the oral healthcare market.

"In addition to the two new Hypozalix products, the new approved formulations together with the originator sprays will be marketed by Melbrosin, the OTC division of the Group. This marketing initiative will utilize the Menoflavon brand, targeting xerostomia associated with menopausal symptoms.

"The line, brand and range extensions approved for marketing will be available both as prescription as well as over the counter medicines. It is expected these will be launched in Q4 2007."
