Gosh Victor, what a lot you have to face. At least everything is starting now, so that's a small step towards it finally being over.

How are you feeling?

Regards
Gwyn

Hi Victor,

You have every right to know excatly what they - the doctors - intend to or are doing to your body. It is mandatory that a complete explaination is given. Why dont you excise your right? If still noone wants to hear make one huge racket and get everyone to come running to you.

As the ad. goes : " JUST DO IT",

Take care amigo,
Ananth

Hi again Victor

Not been on line for a while, but just wondered how you are doing.

I assume you have now had your teeth out and have had your PEG put in. Good luck with your chemo on Monday. I hope they are treating you well.

Have you taken Ananth's advice? He is absolutely right, we all have a right to know everything about our treatment and also to be treated properly and giving respect!

Thinking of you.

Gwyn

thank you anath and gywnn
Ive had all my top teeth and 3 bottom takeb out tues and had my port and peg tube in thursday.
I am ok now , first night with peg tube was rough i kept getting stabbing pains every 30 minuts or so i could feel them coing on like a little twinge then it would be like to big stabbing pains then gone. I think it may have been gas cause i would hear my stomach rumble.
I think i ate too much when i got home i ate big bowl of jello and mashed potatoes and 2 meal shakes i drank 2 because i forgot to add the fiber to the first and since i was on pain meds for my teeth since tuesday i noticed i hadnt had a bowel movement.
Plus i was so hungry because they were supposed to operate at 10 am thursday and didnt till 3 five hours later and didnt release me till 8 pm so i had been 24 hrs with nothing to eat because they told me not to eat 12 hours before.
I have read now to take many small meals.
There is a nurse coming today to teach me about the peg. I dont really have to use it for a while because they are giving me chemo for 6-9 weeks first then 2 week rest then radiation with chemo . So if they give me the 9 weeks of chemo and 2 week rest and people say the first week of chemo you dont need it. thats 12 weeks before i need it. But ive read it helps you to stay hydrated while on chemo.

As far as my doctors go ive talked to other doctors and people who told me my doctor are really good. they are just the get it done type and very busy. I am pushing now, i started a month ago. The first month i thought they were going to take care of me. Now i am starting treatment i think the end of next week. I had a review in boston at Mass General in front of several doctors and they called my medical oncologist and then told me he was a very smart
doctor and the treatment he has planned for me is one that they will probibly be switching to.
I will be getting erbitux taxol carboplatin for 6-9 weeks then 2 week rest then 8 weeks of chemo and radiation then 4 week rest then surgery.
My lymphnode is huge about the size of a lemon. The chemo first is to prevent it from spreading kill any microscopic that has spread reduce size of lymphnode and tonsil tumor is 3 cm so radiation can better get them.

Thank you all so much for taking time to respond to me

Dear Victor,
Am really happy to hear that you have got more or less all the information you needed to know from your Doctors. Keeping in mind your treatment - the peg will come handy (it has been in my case for eight years now!). However, though I know it sounds a bit harsh you are about to embark on some tough times and will have to really brace yourself. However, I have no doubt that with your attitude you will emerge as you name says - the Victor.
Take care amigho and keep writing in - you have a lot of freinds here.
Ananth

Natasha,

I just sent you a PM but see that you're on the message board. You may see this first:

Go to Ananth's post right above yours.

Click on his name.

Click View Ananth's Public Profile.

On the right side, near the bottom of the screen, click Send Private Message to Ananth.

Be sure to enter a Subject in the top unlabeled field on the message form; if you don't, the system rejects your message when you try to send it. Believe me, I've lost a lot of messages that way and then am too lazy to repeat them.

Best of luck to you and your Dad.

Mimi
