I am looking for the best Rt center and read in the NCCN guidelines that altered fractionation is most effective. I am also aware that IMRT is best for oral cancer.
However, the radiation oncologist I met today says that IMRT makes altered fractionation unnecessary. In fact he said altered fractionation is not appropriae for tongue lesions. On the other hand, another Radiation oncologist I met before said she would use it in combination with IMRT if she could but didn't have enough equipment (she now uses an alternative method she claims to be essentially the same as altered fractionation). Aside from the above question about the need for altered fractionation, are there any other things I can find out about the machines or Rt center itself to indicate which one I can/should take papa to? Thanks and god bless, n verma This message has been edited. Last edited by: n. verma, |
