I just got this message:

"Just got another sad news. Ananth is also gone! Sonya informed about his passing on facebook. He went on 20th Nov in his sleep."

My tribute is a Navajo requiem:

Homeward now shall I journey,
Homeward upon the rainbow.
Homeward now shall I journey,
Lo, yonder, the holy place..

Mimi

Hi Mimi

I'd been wondering about Ananth this weekend as we'd not heard from him or his family in a while. This sad news was not unexpected.

It's over. Ananath fought a long hard battle and over the years gave many of us inspiration to continue with our lives in spite of our various forms of head and neck cancer.

He was an institution of knowledge on this head and neck cancer business and will be missed.

Hopefully, CNN will complete the documentary and air it soon to commemorate his passing.

Such sad news. It is hard to believe he is really gone. The world will be a quieter and less exciting place without him.

RIP Dear Ananth.

I too am deeply saddened by the death of someone I never met, who lived a world away.

Rest his soul.

I am so sad to hear the news of Ananth's passing. I will miss him greatly. I have followed his posts for quite a while and admired his courage, his intelligence and his caring. Though we never met I feel I have lost a friend. My sympathy to his family.

I simply cannot believe it. I never met Ananth but I spoke to him by email and over the forums and it is a shock to hear the news. I trust he is in a better place now and enjoying his new life. All my - indeed I am sure all our - love to his family.
