Paul, just wondered if you knew that """Blitzbob""" (Eileen) had died Octi. 14 whilst on holiday.

I know you two didn't exactly see everything eye to eye but it did make for lively reading at times

Dear Pikeman

That is really sad news Frowner .

Our dear Blitzbob lived up to her nom de plume - Blitz's posts were rapidly written in a dyslexic and lively fashion that challenged me to think! I always enjoyed her awkward questions Roll Eyes

She was a founder member (no. 23) and joined us on 8 March 2003. We will all miss her. I wish Eileen gentle and peaceful rest.

Peace to Blitz
Vinod :coffee:

WHAT!!!! How did this happen? When did this happen? How can you post something like that? Without any details and so as a matter of fact. Does anyone know any particulars. Oh this is so sad. I had several emails that she and I went head to head about things. I am in shock. Please if anyone knows anything, please email me. Vicki
Eileen, sleep now that you can without all your pain. rest now that you can without worrying about those you have left behind. your fight on this earth is done, my friend. we will meet one day, soon i fear. i feel ashamed for I didn't know that your walk was so close to the end. i supposed you spared me that. i so wish that you hadn't. i would have walked with you. or tried to but you knew that. you once said that i was so kind and thoughtful and you questioned how could i have been with all the wrong that had been done me. i answered you because i love people, i care about people, i respect people. this is also how i felt about you. Tho you did not believe in him,,,GOD BLESS YOU EILEEN. Vicki

Sorry about the bluntness of the news regarding Eileen.

I found out purely by chance. Her name popped up on my IM list and as I don't often catch her there I sent a message asking how she and Bob were keeping.

If was Bob who replied giving me the news, I think he said she died on 14th. That shook me even more because I was sure I'd spoken to here after that date. Just shows how faulty ones memory can be.

I was in such a state of shock I didn't ask for details, which would in any event have been tasteless.

This is very surprising. I had a message from Eileen in reply to my where is she post earlier on - that was on 12 Sep. She said she had just come back off a wonderful cruise. I'm sure I replied to her, but the system here does sometimes make you wonder when a letter sort of zaps itself.

I'm very shocked to read this. Do we know if it was her neck illness or her depressive illness that caused her death. I know how unhappy having the surgery made her and if she cast a different conclusion to treatment maybe it's one we will all reach one day when we reach the stage of discomfort she was in.

I'll miss her here. She would always send a little pm if she thought she had ruffled you with her comments.

I have found this hard to take in. This is Eileen's last public post with me and it makes me think maybe she was in greater pain than she let on.

I checked my personel email and the past post I had from her was on October the 13. I asked her many times how she was doing? she was so assuring that she was far better off than we all were. I am really blown away with this. DAMM. Thank you Mike for letting us all know. She said that you and she talked often off the site..She was very found of you. Always Vicki

I would just like to express my sadness over the death of Eileen; she was definitely a presence on the message board and will be greatly missed. She did seem to put a very negative stance on being diagnosed with mouth cancer but I think she made us realise how important awareness and fundraising of this cause is, to hopefully try and prevent others from going through the trauma we have had to go through. I hope some where and some how she managed to have some happiness in her last few months.

Rest in peace Eileen, now you feel no pain.

I was shocked and sorry to hear the sad news of Eileen's death. She emailed me when I first came on to this site. Granted her tone was a bit negative and seemed always to be at odds with everyone but underneath all that she had the grace to wish the best for all of us. Sleep peacefully Blitzbob.
