To all that are members on this site and to all of your friends and family members, I am asking that you say a prayer for the Sankey Family. Whatever religion that you belong to or are a part of. Light a candle, plant a flower, say a prayer, sing a song, cry a tear..Whatever you do Please let them know that their family today and in the days to come are not alone. Now is the time for all of us to come together as a team and stand beside of our own.. God Bless you, Vicki & Richard Thank you

I am crying tears and lighting a candle for the Sankey family. My thoughts are with them all at this very sad time.

Dear Vicki, It is a beautiful idea that we all be joined in prayer or in some other way to show our love and support for Jennie and her family. I have certainly been praying for them since we heard the sad news on 28th Feb and I will light a candle tomorrow in church.

Dear All,
Would it be an idea to have a forum/heading just for such occasions where we could compile a "spiritual bouquet" of prayers, poems or just words of comfort and support? What do you think?

TODAY I AWOKE
To find you still gone...
Today I awoke
To the words of a song.

Today I awoke
To all that I hear...
Today I awoke
To find you still near.

For yesterdays are not gone...
And tomorrows will follow the night,
But the memories I'll treasure...
With knowing you're alright.

For today I truly awoke
To knowing that you are
And forever will be
"WITH ME"

"U don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing"

Garance I love that, Shelley your post was lovely. I was thinking today while I was sitting outside about the Sankey family. Wondering how they are coping with this HUGE loss. Reflecting back on when my Moma passed away of CANCER at the young age of 42. She was so young to have to leave her 4 kids, 4 Grandchilren and a loving husband. You know it isn't nice to talk about your losses when someone has just loss someone, but it is just our nature. Pain is pain. They say oh it will get better in time, and this is true, you do stop crying everyday. You don't cry as often but when you do start--you can cry for hours. You do stop looking for them everywhere you go. You have too stop because the pain of it all is just something that hurts too bad to deal everyday. This is how is has been for me. But you never STOP loving, thinking, wishing, hoping, wanting, needing or remembering. I cannot tell you how many times in the last 20 years that I have wanted or needed to talk to my Moma, to ask her a question. Wondering what she would look like today. Do I look like she would. I will never forget her laugh, her voice or her loving way of saying that it will be okay. When it is all said and done--Memories is all we are left with. Thank the Lord for that. On my moma's monument this is what is written: Memories are one gift from GOD that death cannot destroy. It is so so true. Tho she is forever gone---her memories live on and on and on...So will Paul.....Forever in our hearts--so very true.....God Bless, Vicki

Why God gave us friends!!

GOD Knew That Everyone Needs
Companionship And Cheer,
He Knew That People Need Someone
Whose Thoughts Are Always Near.

He Knew They Need Someone Kind
To Lend A Helping Hand.
Someone To Gladly Take The Time
To Care And Understand.

GOD Knew That We All Need Someone
To Share Each Happy Day,
To Be A Source Of Courage
When Troubles Come Our Way.

Someone To Be True To Us,
Whether Near Or Far Apart.
Someone Whose Love We'll Always
Hold And Treasure In Our Hearts.

That's Why God Gave Us Friends
