Although I did not know Brenda, I remember her name on this site when I was having some scary dental issues. I am so sorry for the loss-her family will be in my prayers. I know God will take care of such a wonderful person in heaven. Dr. Koshi, thank you for forwarding this to me- you are a wonderful doctor. May God bless you, Brenda's family and everyone on this board.

Since I've start to read you all, two years ago, I feel like a "brotherhood". I used to e-mail one of our dear souls in UK: unfortunately, she died too, some months ago. For me, It was terrible to know through the family. BUT We are still here, fighting and remembering this beautiful woman Brenda, who gave us such power of joy. My thoughts with the dear family and also with YOU ALL! Though I'm far away and not writing, I'm with you.
Thank you for being.

Thank you so much for letting us know about Brenda's passing Dr Joshi.
Such a sad, sad shock as we haven't been on line for ages. The forum, foundation and the whole 'family' have lost a loving, supportive friend.
Our deepest sympathy to Brenda's family. We can only imagine the emptiness they are feeling right now. The only blessing is the fact that Brenda now has perfect peace.
Love to everyone else. Think of you all often.
Love
Deborah and Trevor

I didn't know Brenda either, nor have I posted on this forum before, but I was a "lurker" last year .....almost exactly a year ago, I started RT at Manchester's wonderful Christie Hospital for a squamous tumour at the bottom-end/base of my tongue....

... my consultant told me straightaway that there was an 80% chance of a lasting cure....which seems to have been borne out so far, as my follow-ups (one next Tuesday!) have revealed that the tumour is history (touch wood)...

..but what got me through the 3-4 months of RT side-effects (the peeling, the oozing, the scabs, the swallowing difficulties... 3 months of Ensure, not too bad a diet actually), and despite the great help the Christie radiotherapists were in supporting me....was you kind people....

..the best "help" was my lurking on several mouth cancer forums (fora?) and getting the re-assurance of seeing that so many other people had also come through exactly the same journey, so as each otherwise-alarming side-effect came, it was no surprise.... and I was able to remain positive and optimistic because so many others (sounds like Brenda was one) had taken the time and trouble to post on the forums. Late thanks to you asll.

This year, I've started a new job as a community support worker , and hope that I'm making a positive contribution to the lives of others who are also now needing a bit of help.....

..No man is an island, entire of itself
every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main
if a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were,
as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were
any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind
and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls
it tolls for thee."

Although expected, this news is so very sad. Everyone on this site has lost a friend. Brenda was inspirational.

Goodbye Brenda, you will be missed so much, though you will live on as you have touched so many lives.

With deepest sympathy to Brenda's family and friends.

I do not post often but Brenda did help me with her posts when I first came onto this site, I am saddened by the fact that such a nice caring person has been taken away from us.
