Dear Friends
David Myers (1925-2007) passed away on Saturday 16th June 2007. He was a friend of mine and I am saddened to hear about David’s death. David supported me in setting up our website for mouth cancer patients by giving his permission for me to showcase his dental cartoons, that had appeared in the magazine Dental Practice, on our website. The Dental Cartoons are seen by many and they have helped bring cheer to many when they were troubled. David was very supportive of our work and in increasing awareness of mouth cancers. When he was informed of the Mouth Cancer Walk being organised in Hyde Park, London last year, he wrote back to ask me to use his cartoons in any way deemed fit to promote the Hyde Park and other events. We are planning our second Mouth Cancer Walk later this year in Hyde Park, London on Sunday 14 October to increase awareness; we will be having a minute’s silence in his memory. Best wishes Vinod This message has been edited. I am sorry to hear of your friend's death. In the course of your work you must have to deal with a lot of sadness and grief. You are such a support to other people as a professional and on this website so I want to offer you my cyber hugs on the death of your friend.
PS. Love the cartoons. |

He was famous as a dental cartoonist but his obituary (Award-winning joke cartoonist) doesn't mention his dental cartoons, which are great:

Hi Dr Joshi,
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. His jokes must be a wonderful way to remember him. I have to confess I'm not very good about the death thing at all but please accept my condolences. SusieR |

Hi Dr Joshi,
It is so sad to lose someone in our life who has bought so much joy and laughter, and who has been a good friend. I love the cartoons you have shown us, he must have had some good belly laughs as he wrote them. I pray his work will continue to bring laughter to all that read them. Sending you a big hug. Tracey |
